🏥 Google’s Med-PaLM 2 works in hospitals

Y’all remember Dr.Gupta? Created by the notorious Martin Shkreli?

It looks like Google has already lapsed Shkreli’s AI with its Med-PaLM 2 - which has been tested at the Mayo Clinic research hospital to help answer medical information questions.

The language model was trained on curated medical expert demonstrations and data, making it better at healthcare conversations than other generalized chatbots like Bing, Bard, and ChatGPT.

Why’s this important? Google believes Med-PaLM2 will be particularly helpful in countries with limited access to doctors.

Additionally, the Mayo Clinic's expertise in healthcare brings an added level of credibility to the project.

While the AI tool still has some accuracy issues, Med-PaLM 2 has performed well in almost every other section, including:

  • Reasoning

  • Consensus-supported answers

  • Showing no sign of incorrect comprehension

It will be a big win for the medical community if they can safely deploy this in areas with poor medical access.

⁉️ YouTube tries video quizzes

Youtube, home to educational videos ranging from how to light a match to solving 15 variable multi-variate regression, is introducing AI-generated quizzes into their content.

Instead of watching passively, viewers can now test their knowledge and engage more actively with the material, making the experience more interactive. It's like turning your study session into a game show.

As the video plays, questions related to the content pop up, challenging viewers to recall what they've just learned.

The catch: It is only available for a select portion of English-language content for now.

Overall: With this new feature, viewers can actively participate in their learning journey, making it more dynamic and enjoyable.

Thoughts: How much further would this have to progress to make it a viable option for homeschooling?

💰️ Microsoft is flying high

Microsoft is coming for those Apple and Meta valuations.

According to Morgan Stanley analysts, Microsoft's stock could surpass a $3 trillion valuation by early 2024 because of how well they are positioned within the Generative AI space.

What's driving this surge in Microsoft's potential?

  • Azure is the star of the show. With the ever-growing demand for cloud services, Microsoft has positioned itself as a major player in the market.

  • Combine that with the company's strong product portfolio and solid financials, and MS is in business.

What does this mean:

  • Microsoft's stock is a "Top Pick" and could see a potential upside of 22%

  • Microsoft's price target has been raised to $415, representing a 24% increase from its previous target.

Microsoft's ability to leverage its investment in OpenAI and integrate AI into its popular software offerings should give it a strong positioning in the generative AI market, allowing them to take on Google and Meta head-on.

This is not financial advice… but damn, they make a compelling case.
