📽️ Text-to-video just got better, thanks to Runway

Runway’s Gen-2, which allows for the synthesis of new videos, now supports text-to-video. Previously, Gen-2 only allowed the synthesis of new videos by applying the composition and style of an image or text prompt to the structure of a source video (Video to Video).

According to user studies, Gen-2 is preferred over existing methods for image-to-image and video-to-video translation.

🤑 HustleGPT makes a hustler out of GPT-4

If you’re a hustler, you’ve probably heard of HustleGPT in the past few days.

This ambitious project is using OpenAI's GPT-4 generative AI model to turn $100 into as much money as possible in the shortest time possible. The goal is to show how get-rich-quick schemes will look in the future using AI and to demonstrate GPT-4's capabilities in leveraging its own fame.

Jackson Greathouse Fall is the human liaison, buying anything the AI suggests. So far, using HustleGPT, Jackson has:

• Bought a domain name

• Designed a logo

• Written a website

• Allocated money for Facebook and Instagram ads

• Hired freelance content creators and developed a SaaS product

So far, the experiment has been successful, earning over $7k in investment, with a growing team and content in the pipeline.

AI-generated content can now be copyrighted...sometimes [Mashable] - The US Copyright Office has released new guidance on who owns AI-generated works, stating that it will consider granting ownership on a case-by-case basis. The Office will determine ownership based on how much a human has creative control over the work's expression. AI-generated content may be copyrighted if the user selects or arranges it in a creative way that can be considered an original work. This is a new and evolving area of copyright law, and the Copyright Office continues to monitor new developments in the field. (Read more)

Is ChatGPT Closer to a Human Librarian Than It Is to Google? [Gizmodo] - AI systems like ChatGPT and Bard can generate personalized natural language responses from full sentences or paragraphs and have become popular due to their impressive results. However, these systems lack transparency, and their responses can be wrong, toxic, or biased. They also take away learning and serendipity opportunities for users as they don't show their sources or guide users through a process. They can also be unfair to the creators of original content, as they don't provide sufficient attribution or traffic. (Read more)
