Greetings, fellow humans. 👋

This is Not A Bot - the newsletter about AI that was definitely not written by AI. I’m Haroon, founder of AI For Anyone, and I share the latest news, tools, and resources from the AI space.

On a personal note, I’m excited to share some news next week about a startup I’ve been building! And yes, you guessed it: it’s an AI startup.

If you know any pre-seed investors interested in the space or folks building powerful AI tooling on top of language models, send ‘em my way. 😄

But the laundry list of investor calls isn’t my biggest obstacle today: I’ll be flying across the country with my newborn later tonight.

Wish me luck. 🤞

Let’s dive into it…

💬 What do Slack and Brex have in common?

Another day, another company building AI capabilities on top of foundational models…

Yesterday, Slack and Brex both announced collaborations with OpenAI and Slack to launch features using ChatGPT.

Slack launched the ChatGPT app for Slack, which combines OpenAI's language models with Slack's conversational interface for work. The app can help users get up to speed quickly, find answers instantly, and draft messages quickly.

Brex launched its own ChatGPT-powered app, which provides relevant corporate spending insights and answers critical business questions in real time.

🛡️ Apple blocks ChatGPT update

Apple has blocked BlueMail from updating its app with the ChatGPT engine due to their concern that it could generate offensive or inappropriate text.

BlueMail has protested the move, saying that it stifles innovation. However, it must be noted that Apple didn’t outright ban the app: they prevented BlueMail from updating their app without content restriction filters.

This move comes when industries and institutions struggle to navigate the implications of generative AI and its use in content creation tools. It’ll be interesting to see where the buck stops here.
