🔳 Autoblocks: Available to Everyone
📣 Hey Team, some big news coming out of Autoblocks: the platform is now available to everyone!
We built Autoblocks to help teams improve & differentiate their LLM-powered products. Here's how Autoblocks can be your secret weapon:
🔍 Unparalleled visibility into user behavior: With Autoblocks, you get unparalleled visibility into how your users use your LLM products, so you can understand behavior and debug issues.
⏪ Full-pipeline simulation: We layer in full-pipeline simulations to let you simulate product experiences using historical user inputs.
⛏️ Dynamic fine-tuning dataset curation: We help you create powerful proprietary datasets for fine-tuning (new features coming soon 👀).
🧪 Experiment tracking: Run experiments to compare how LLM models impact user behaviors. Evaluating which models work for you shouldn’t only rely on thumbs-up and thumbs-down.
Summary: We are helping supercharge LLM-powered products for companies by providing powerful debugging, testing, and fine-tuning capabilities.

🥸 DeepMind Cracks Deepfakes
Detecting AI-generated images has been a big issue for companies and individuals… until now.
Google's DeepMind claims to have cracked deepfake detection with its new SynthID watermarking system. The AI method embeds hidden identifiers inside pixels of images created by Google's Imagen model. While invisible to the human eye, the watermarks allow detection tools to pinpoint AI-generated fakes.
Currently, SynthID only works within Google's closed ecosystem. Available for Google Cloud's Vertex AI platform, it's limited to enterprise partners utilizing Imagen. DeepMind remains tightlipped on technical details, though we think that’s probably for the best (to prevent workarounds)
The only problem is this: With countless AI image generators now available, detecting just Imagen-sourced deepfakes seems of narrow value.
Plus, experts argue watermarking merely mitigates harms rather than preventing them. Clever internet users inevitably find ways to remove or circumvent watermarks.
Overall: The Biden administration stresses the need for Big Tech to enable AI content identification.
But until universal deepfake solutions emerge, watermarking looks more like a limited stopgap than a sweeping fix.
Though imperfect, SynthID moves the ball forward. This could be a critical first step that leads to a proper deepfake solution.

🧬 Poe continues evolving
Quora's speedy AI chatbot Poe shows no signs of slowing down. So far this year, they have:
Launched Poe for iOS public in February
Launched premium subscriptions in March
Launched an Android App in May
Launched a native Mac App for one-click access to chatbots in July
Now, they are adding more features to the chatbot:
The bot is now available in Japanese
Poe also recently launched a search to uncover custom bots made by others
Custom bot builders got temperature control last month for more varied or consistent responses
Threading debuted this month, enabling separate context conversations with one bot
Poe is also launching an enterprise package for employee groups. Details on that remain mysterious, but interested companies are invited to join a waitlist.
Overall: The rapid pace of new products and capabilities shows Quora's pedal-down commitment to advancing Poe as a top-tier AI chatbot.
Premium subscriptions help fuel Poe's innovation engine, with the upcoming enterprise package signaling Poe's move into the lucrative corporate market.
