🀝 Google and Replit team up to take on Microsoft

Google Cloud and Replit have teamed up to provide developers with some seriously powerful tools. This partnership means that developers can now access Google's infrastructure, services, and AI models, all while using Replit's collaborative code editing platform.

But wait, there's more! This collaboration sets the stage for a fierce competition between Microsoft and Google to provide the best platform and tools for software developers. With Replit's Ghostwriter application using Google's language models to suggest code blocks and complete programs, the integration of AI into software development platforms is making it easier for novices to create applications.

It's clear that the future of software development may depend on how well AI can write code. And with this exciting partnership between Google Cloud and Replit, we're one step closer to seeing what the future of software development will look like.

🀝 Google and DeepMind unite to compete with OpenAI

Alphabet's two AI labs, Google Brain and DeepMind, have teamed up to take on OpenAI's GPT-4, an AI-powered chatbot that's been turning heads in the tech world.

The collaboration, codenamed Gemini, was born out of fierce competition from OpenAI, who's managed to snag some of Google's top researchers. Plus, the recent resignation of a prominent Google AI researcher who raised concerns about their own chatbot, Bard, has only added fuel to the fire.

So, what's the plan for Gemini? The goal is to create a large-language model that can compete with OpenAI, boasting up to 1 trillion parameters and requiring tens of thousands of tensor processing units. But that's not all - other Google teams are also working on their own large-language models, so it's clear that the race to develop the best AI chatbot is heating up.

We can't wait to see what these brilliant minds come up with next.

🀐 Google refutes using ChatGPT data to train Bard

Google's AI chatbot, Bard, didn't exactly have the debut that Google was hoping for. But fear not, because Google is enlisting the help of its DeepMind division with a new initiative called Gemini to improve its fortunes.

However, things have gotten a little sticky for Google. The Information reported that Google may have used data from OpenAI's ChatGPT, scraped from a website called ShareGPT, to train Bard. This has caused some controversy, with former Google AI researcher Jacob Devlin reportedly speaking out against using the data. But Google denies these allegations, stating that Bard was not trained on any data from ShareGPT or ChatGPT, and it's believed that they stopped using the data after Devlin's warnings.

It's also interesting to note that DeepMind has been attempting to become more independent from Google for years, so it's quite the surprise to see them being pulled in to help with Gemini. We can't wait to see what kind of improvements DeepMind will bring to the table, and if Bard will finally live up to its potential.
